As previously reported, Vince McMahon will be making an appearance on tonight’s episode of WWE SmackDown and is likely to address the ongoing allegations made against him that led to McMahon stepping down as WWE Chairman and CEO. However, a new report states that Vince will be appearing “in-character” as “Mr. McMahon” to address the issues, rather than do a shoot promo and discuss the matter publicly. McMahon is expected to explain (in “Mr. McMahon” fashion, of course) why he is stepping away from WWE and will introduce Stephanie McMahon as his chosen successor.
CNBC’s own Alex Sherman, who initially reported the news, also says the original script that was written for tonight’s show was ripped up by Vince McMahon.
