Ahead of tonight’s AEW Dynamite, rising star Wardlow spoke with Huber in the Morning about a number of pro wrestling related topics, including his thoughts on facing a mystery opponent chosen by his current rival, MJF.

Starting off, Wardlow commented on his meteoric rise within the company since it launched back in 2019. While it may feel like it happened overnight, Wardlow assures fans that he’s been ready for this moment for his entire life.

“It does feel like it was overnight. It all happened seemingly in the blink of an eye but yeah you’re right, it’s been years and I know I’ve been ready for this opportunity for my whole life. So this is new but familiar at the same time.”

Speaking of the fans, Wardlow says that the AEW universe being entirely behind him is like a dream come true.

“It’s a true dream come true. You spend your whole life dreaming of the thought of an arena full of people chanting for you or chanting your name and that’s been happening consistently every week, every city. I’m getting those types of receptions and sometimes I have to pinch myself to make sure this is all real.”

Additionally, Wardlow commented on FTR being huge mentors of his. He said,

“They are huge mentors of mine. I will be thanking and giving my gratitude to those two men for the rest of my career. Dax is somebody that is very to himself and he doesn’t give out compliments often, but when he sees something in someone, he does offer his knowledge and he has an abundance of it. Cash and Dax, and even when I was in the Pinnacle before Spears lost his mind, they took me under their wings and taught me so much and continue to this day.

“Those guys are so good at their jobs, and I’ve said this before, if I was going to be in a real fight and I had to pick one person from the roster, it would be Cash. That dude has his friends back like I’ve never seen before. If somebody looks at us the wrong way, he’s ready to go. That mullet has to give you such confidence. No wonder he’s ready to fight the world.”

To end the interview, Wardlow promised MJF and whoever his mystery opponent is that they don’t stand a chance.

“He can color this thing and dress it up any way he wants. It doesn’t matter who it is, and it certainly doesn’t matter how big they are. Nobody stands a chance.”

Speculation is that Impact Wrestling’s W. Morrissey will challenge Wardlow on tonight’s episode of AEW Dynamite, as MJF dropped his signature “Can’t Teach That” catchphrase on last week’s episode.
