Adam Copeland made his first appearance on this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite after making his debut with the promotion at Sunday night’s WrestleDream 2023 pay-per-view event.
On this week’s show, Copeland came out to cut a promo in the main event segment. The former Edge addressed his arrival in AEW and said he wanted to come to Tony Khan’s promotion to work with some of the best wrestlers in the world, including Kenny Omega, Jay White, Jon Moxley, and others.
Copeland then went on to talk about his 40-year relationship with Christian Cage, who his kids call “Uncle Jay”. When he asked his daughter Lyric what he should do next, she told him to “go have fun with Uncle Jay.” Of course, “Uncle Jay” is Jay Reso, better known to fans as Christian Cage.
Copeland then told Cage he wanted him to come to the ring, which the latter did. Copeland then pleaded his case, saying it was time for them to reunite as a tag team so they could face the likes of FTR, The Young Bucks, and others in AEW.
At that point, Christian grabbed the microphone and hugged his former tag team partner. While they were engaged in a hug, Christian put the microphone to his mouth and told Copeland to “go f-ck yourself.” He then walked up the entrance ramp and brought out Luchasaurus to remind Copeland of who he’ll be facing on next Tuesday night’s episode of AEW Dynamite.
