William Regal is currently working as WWE‘s Vice President of Global Talent Development. Pwinsider has shared some details on Regal’s behind-the-scenes role in WWE.
Regal has been attending every RAW and SmackDown taping, monitoring every match, and taking notes on them. Following the match, his Lordship meets with the talent to offer valuable advice on how to make their performances look stronger and more “realistic from an in-ring perspective.”
Regal also provides tips and suggestions on how Superstars can improve their selling, physicality during lock-ups, reversal sequences, and other crucial aspects of the match. The founder of the Blackpool Combat Club is essentially offering advice on how to fine-tune the nitty-gritty of the match so that everyone appears to be more competent inside the squared circle.
Regal left AEW in order to work with his son, NXT‘s Charlie Dempsey, and he returned to WWE back in January. Regal is currently only working with the main roster talents. Due to the terms of his AEW release, he is barred from appearing on WWE TV until January 1, 2024.
