Women of Wrestling (WOW) is set for a relaunch in the very near future and one of the headlining stars for the promotion will feature the return of former Impact Wrestling World Champion Tessa Blanchard. According to Fightful, the relaunch was announced on Wednesday night with a press conference and the announcement that Blanchard would be returning to pro wrestling and competing for the organization.
Blanchard, along with other stars that are attached to the league and a relaunch date will be announced at a later date. As mentioned above, Blanchard has yet to “officially” sign a contract with the company but that seems to be the plan.
Blanchard hasn’t been seen since she was released from Impact Wrestling for not returning to the states to defend the World Title in June of 2020 at Slammiversary. She was a regular of WOW during its most recent run and held the WOW World Championship from October 2018 until May of 2019.
LA Lakers owner Jeanie Buss is still the owner of WOW and is attached to this relaunch project. Most of the former WOW talent say they have yet to be contacted about the relaunch as of this writing, nor have they heard from WOW creator David McLane since being asked not to comment publicly about the bullying allegations made against Tessa Blanchard.
Several additional women were contacted for the relaunch, but none of them have come on board outside of Blanchard.
