The following is from our play-by-play coverage of the WWE NXT TakeOver: WarGames event:
WarGames Match: Shotzi Blackheart, Ember Moon, Rhea Ripley, and Io Shirai vs. Candice LeRae, Toni Storm, Raquel Gonzalez, and Dakota Kai
Moon and Kai started things off. They went back and forth. Kai hit a version of the candian destroyer, but it was turned into a back breaker. Shotzi was next in and brought a toolbox. The babyfaces had the advantage so Kai got beat down for five minutes. Gonzalez was next in and followed by Ripley. The biggest stars in the match went at it. Storm was next and brought in kendo sticks. They did a power of doom spot in the corners. Io was in next, but Raquel attacked her with the cage door then a ladder. LeRae was last in.
Indie Heartwell came out and stole the key to the door. The heels jumped babyfaces with Io locked out of the cage. Io put a trash can on her head and jumped off the top of the cage. Io cleaned house that started the rally for the babyfaces. There were several splashes in the corner on the heels. Io hit a moonsault off the top rope onto Gonzalez with a chair. There was a double submission spot with LeRae and Shotzi, but LeRae ended her hold and attacked Shotzi. Io took out Kai with a drop kick off the ropes.
Kai did a stomp onto Io, who had a trash can on her head. Moon hit her finisher while using two chairs on Kai, but Storm broke up the pin attempt with a trash can. Storm hit a powerbomb to Moon on a trash can. LeRae did a superkick with a trash can lid to Rhea. LeRae fell off a ladder onto chairs. Shotzi went for a dive off the ladder and crashed onto LeRae. Io hit a moonsault onto Kai, but Storm speared Ripley to break up the pin attempt. Gonzalez powerbombed Io through a ladder between the ropes for the win.
