On Monday’s episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer continued to discuss the ongoing situation between WWE and the duo of Sasha Banks and Naomi. The pair were suspended indefinitely for walking out of Monday Night RAW last week.
Naomi reportedly only has two months left on her WWE deal. There were also early reports that suggested Sasha Banks’ contract was also set to expire soon. However, Meltzer notes that both Superstars’ deals include language that would allow WWE to freeze their contracts for not performing. They would remain under WWE contract until the company decides to unfreeze them.
WWE has done this in the past, however, mostly when Superstars are suffering injuries. This was the case for the likes of Brodie Lee, for example. This doesn’t mean WWE has or will freeze the women’s deals, but that they simply have the option to should they decide.
