On a recent edition of the “Busted Open Radio” podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray explained why Cody Rhodes must give fans an explanation for his decision to step aside to face Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40.
On last week’s episode of WWE SmackDown, Cody announced that he wouldn’t challenge Reigns at WrestleMania XL before introducing Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson in a shocking move.
WWE has a WrestleMania 40 Kickoff press conference scheduled for later today in Las Vegas, Nevada. The event will feature a face-off between Roman Reigns and The Rock. Cody will be in attendance, and more will be known at the event.

On needing to know why Cody Rhodes decided to step aside at WrestleMania: “I don’t give a s**t about the backstage politics or the smokescreens and the this and that. Within the world of storyline and professional wrestling, I have to know why my hero decided to step aside. And if I don’t know why my hero has stepped aside, sooner than later, I’m going to scratch my head as to why I have so much faith in my hero.”
On why the decision doesn’t make sense without an explanation: “Right now, I don’t care about strap matches with Shinsuke Nakamura, I don’t care about any victory, any wrestling match, any Cross Rhodes, any of that s**t. All I want to know is ‘Cody, why did you step to the side?’ I have to understand why you, who were in the same breath as Hogan, Austin, and Michaels as a back-to-back winner, stepped to the side. Otherwise, it doesn’t make sense.”
