In a recent interview with IndieWire, John Cena & Zac Efron revealed that they got to know each other by discussing wrestling on the set of their new film Ricky Stanicky.

The film will be released on Thursday on Prime Video.

You can check out some highlights from the interview below:

Cena on bonding with Efron: “I started it, and I always talk about it because it’s something that I love. Zac had just come off of finishing The Iron Claw and I’d seen pictures that got leaked, and I was very excited about what a story about the Von Erichs might look like. That’s kind of how I broke the ice with Zac. And once I start talking about sports entertainment, I don’t shut up.”

Efron on their discussions: “It was great for me because I finished The Iron Claw and went straight into filming this. I hadn’t talked about that experience with anyone. After spending 10 minutes with John, I realized that probably nobody knows more about what I’ve just been through in that experience than this guy right here.”

Bianca Belair and Mercedes Mone made history at WrestleMania 37 as the first two African American females to headline WWE’s flagship pay-per-view event, with Belair coming out on top to win the SmackDown Women’s Championship.

In a recent appearance on the “Gorilla Position” podcast, Belair addressed the possibility of Mone returning to WWE one day. She said,

“I’ve had this conversation with her. I don’t know what she wants and what she wants to do. I just want what’s best for her and what she wants to do with her. I’m no one to tell someone what they should do. I will say that we created some magic in the ring at WrestleMania 37. I think there was so much more magic to be made, not only with us inside the ring, but with me being champion at the time, and the tag team champions, I saw so much representation that was on the verge of happening, so much greatness that was going to happen. The fact that it was all halted at that point, I would love for it to pick back up one day and take off. We didn’t even touch the tip of the iceberg with what could be done.”

Mone is expected to make her AEW debut next Wednesday on Dynamite: Big Business.
