Kevin Sullivan, also known as “The Taskmaster,” has passed away at the age of 74.
The news was first brought to light by long-time Florida wrestling personality Barry Rose and later confirmed by Pwinsider.
Sullivan had been battling health issues in recent months. His condition turned worse in May when he underwent emergency surgery to save both his leg and his life. Unfortunately, he faced severe complications, including sepsis and encephalitis. To assist with his medical expenses, a GoFundMe page was launched to raise $20,000.
Sullivan entered the wrestling business in 1982 and contributed to various promotions, including Florida Championship Wrestling, Jim Crockett Promotions, WCW, and ROH. Throughout his career as a wrestler and booker, he held numerous championships.
Sullivan was a top draw and renowned for his feuds with legendary figures such as Hulk Hogan, Dusty Rhodes, The Road Warriors, Sting, Randy Savage, the Four Horsemen, Terry Funk, and many others.
Following his retirement match against Chris Benoit in 1997, Sullivan transitioned to working behind the scenes in WCW while wrestling on a part-time schedule.
We here at eWn send our deepest condolences to the Sullivan family during this difficult time.
