WWE left Nia Jax and Rhea Ripley waiting until the night before Elimination Chamber: Perth before disclosing that the pair would headline the show.
In the main event of WWE’s first Australian pay-per-view event since 2018, Ripley retained her WWE Women’s World Championship against the Irresistible Force.
On a recent edition of Booker T’s “Hall of Fame” podcast, Jax recalled how close to the show it was before she learned of her main event spot. She said,
”I didn’t know (Rhea Ripley & myself were main eventing Elimination Chamber) until I think the night before. I think somebody had sent a card to me and I’m like, ‘Wait a minute, does this mean that we’re on in the main event?’ I’m not gonna lie, it felt like a lot pressure because you had some pretty stacked Elimination Chambers and a great tag on the card and so — and then you had The Grayson Waller Effect.”
Despite losing, Jax has remained in Ripley’s title program with Becky Lynch, as has Liv Morgan, the last woman to score a pinfall victory over ‘Mami.’
This has led to speculation that Jax and Morgan could be added to the Ripley vs. Lynch WWE Women’s World Championship match at WrestleMania 40.
