It’s been widely known that Drew McIntyre’s contract was set to expire after WWE WrestleMania 40, and now that the event has passed, fans have wondered what his future holds. However, it is believed within WWE that a new agreement will be reached eventually.
McIntyre won the WWE World Heavyweight Championship from Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 40 only to lose it to Damian Priest, who cashed in the Money in the Bank briefcase moments later.
Fightful Select is reporting that McIntyre still has not signed a new contract with WWE. The report states,
“We’re told it’s not cause for alarm with the new regime, and has become quite common. We’re told that each situation will likely be different, and that there are plans for McIntyre in the company, and they plan on retaining him.”
