SmackDown’s Tiffany Stratton was nervous that nobody would know who she was mere moments before taking part in this year’s women’s Royal Rumble match.

The former WWE NXT Women’s Champion was the #29 entrant in the match and the 27th woman eliminated from the bout that was won by Bayley.

On a recent edition of the “Insight” podcast, Stratton shared her fears that her NXT success had gone unnoticed by fans tuned into the main roster. She said,

“I was extremely nervous for the Rumble. I just feel like … I don’t know, it’s the first time that the main roster fans kind of got to see me and I was kind of worried nobody was going to know who I was, coming from NXT, and it was awesome.”

Stratton would be well-received at the Royal Rumble and her popularity grew with her appearance at WWE Elimination Chamber: Perth. She said,

“I was very shocked. Actually, I think there’s a video of me in the little pod, of me being like, ‘What the heck, are they chanting Tiffy Time?’ I was beyond shocked because I’m the rookie in this match, I’m like, ‘Do they even know who I am?’ But it was so amazing.”

Stratton didn’t make it on the WrestleMania 40 card but unsuccessfully challenged for the WWE Women’s Championship at the recent Backlash: France pay-per-view event.
