Vince McMahon resigned as TKO Executive Chairman and from the TKO Board of Directors less than two weeks ago after former employee Janel Grant filed a lawsuit against McMahon, WWE, and former executive John Laurinaitis.

The lawsuit accused McMahon of sex trafficking, emotional abuse, and sexual assault, which gained significant media attention.

Due to the lawsuit, Slim Jim initially paused its promotional partnership with WWE ahead of the 2024 WWE Royal Rumble pay-per-view event. They later agreed to sponsor the show after McMahon stepped down from his position.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, TKO CEO Ari Emanuel and TKO President and COO Mark Shapiro contacted McMahon to tell him that it would be in the company’s best interest for him to resign in light of the allegations. McMahon agreed to resign but maintained his denial of the accusations.
