AEW Dynamite Results (10/4/2023)

Backstage, Adam Copeland shows up during Chris Jericho and Kenny Omega’s interview with Renee Paquette. He shakes both of their hands, and is looking forward to celebrating the 4-year anniversary of All Elite Wrestling.

#1. [International Championship] Rey Fenix (c) (w/ El Penta Zero Miedo) vs. Nick Jackson (w/ Matt Jackson) – Winner: Fenix

They have a comedy segment with Adam Cole hanging out with Roderick Strong and The Kingdom, but audio issues make it almost impossible to hear what is going on.

#2. Wardlow vs. Griff Garrison – Winner: Wardlow via referee stoppage

They replay the Roderick Strong and Adam Cole segment. He got Cole some new wheels so they can have fun indoors. But afterward, they get Cole doing chores. Adam looks like he wants out of there, but he also doesn’t want to abandon his friend.

Don Callis tells us Sammy Guevara is not medically cleared, so he has managed to get Aussie Open’s Kyle Fletcher to team with Konosuke Takeshita.

#3. The Acclaimed & Daddy Ass vs. Kip Sabian, The Butcher & The Blade (w/ The Bunny) – Winners: The Acclaimed & Daddy Ass

Toni Storm is with RJ City. She tells him he knows nothing. He has no idea what it is like to be in the spotlight. She lies awake at night wondering if she has “It”, or if she got lucky. Is she past it? RJ says she isn’t old. Toni immediately snaps out of her rage to embrace being “Timeless”.

They announce a #1 contenders match to the TNT Championship next week between Swerve Strickland and Bryan Danielson.

Bullet Club Gold want to talk about MJF. The best thing he could come up with last week was… tofu? Juice Robinson tells him to get his ass out there. The champ answers the call. He says it appears The Devil has arrived. We’ve got an interesting trio making accusations. From The Assboys to Juice Robisnon AKA Talentless Taint. He believes we are about to have the best dual chant ever. “ASSBOYS! TALENTLESS TAINT” chant starts up.

MJF thought with the 4-year anniversary, that he should list some of his greatest moments in AEW. Why would he not be honest about what he does? He didn’t attack Tofu last week. He has an idea. How about right here, right now, we have a Stockton Street Fight. MJF scares BBG out of the ring, but they are just a distraction for Jay White, who shows up to hit the champion with Switchblade. They leave and take Triple B with them.

Jay White says MJF’s cheap tricks won’t work on him. No one believes him when he says he didn’t attack him last week. He is a dirty, pathetic liar, and a coward. We need a truly elite champion, and MJF is not him. Put it all on the line at Full Gear. MJF vs. Jay White for the AEW World Championship. He is leading by example, starting from tonight. MJF accepts the challenge.

#4. Chris Jericho & Kenny Omega vs. Konosuke Takeshita & Kyle Fletcher (w/ Don Callis) – Winners: Jericho & Omega

Powerhouse Hobbs appears from nowhere to destroy both Chris Jericho and Kenny Omega, as Don Callis looks on with a smirk. They tape Omega to the ring ropes. Chris Jericho takes two chair shots to protect Kenny. Callis hits Omega in the head with an unprotected chair shot.

Backstage, MJF is frustrated with what transpired earlier. Max Caster gives him a surprise shoulder massage, but MJF doesn’t want it. He tells Caster that he is creepy and needs to stop leaving messages for him. And no… he won’t scissor him. MJF tells him to get out. Afterward, he tries to ring Adam Cole, but it goes to voicemail.

#5. ‘Timeless’ Toni Storm vs. Skye Blue – Winner: Toni Storm

Tony Schiavone welcomes Adam Copeland to AEW. He says Tony’s voice was the sound of his childhood. Loves him, but this is his ring now, so hit the bricks. We get an “Adam” chant, which he has never heard before. Let’s get to business. He thinks the AEW World Heavyweight Championship would look good around his waist. There’s also many first-time matches. Jon Moxley. Kenny Omega. Miro. Powerhouse Hobbs. Jay White. Juice Robinson.

All amazing opponents for him to challenge, and it is something new. The main reason he is here is because his daughters told him to go have fun with uncle Jay AKA Christian Cage. He would like to call out Christian Cage, so he can tell him the real reason he is here. Cage answers the call.

Adam tells him for forty years they have been best friends. This industry told them they would be best friends for life. He did what he did at WrestleDream because he sees him standing like he was, but he still loves him. That will never go away. But he was standing over Sting, a guy Christian looked up to. He couldn’t stand there and see him smash Sting with a Conchairto. But also, he knows as soon as Luchasaurus and Nick Wayne have sucked all the information out of his brain, they will leave him.

For the first time since 2011, and the first time in over twenty years, it is time they team together again. To face a team like FTR, the Young Bucks. To show an entire generation why they are one of the best tag teams of all time. He is out here asking him, let’s do it. Let’s end their careers together. Christian Cage hugs Adam, and then tells him to go “F*** Yourself”.

Before he goes, a quick reminder of what he will be up against on Dynamite. Luchasaurus and Nick Wayne enter. It will be Adam Copeland vs. Luchasaurus next Tuesday on Dynamite.
