AEW Dynamite Results (4/10/2024)
#1. [AEW World Championship Eliminator] Samoa Joe vs. Dustin Rhodes – Winner: Did Not Start
As Samoa Joe was making his entrance, Swerve Strickland attacked and speared him through a table. The Dustin Rhodes match has been postponed.
#2. [TNT Championship] Adam Copeland (c) vs. Penta El Zero Miedo – Winner: Copeland retains
The lights go out. When they come back on, Julia Hart distracts Adam Copeland. Brody King attacks him from behind. Willow Nightingale appears to attack Julia, so Brody gets her off. This allows Adam some time to recover and fight Brody King in to retreat.
The Young Bucks are backstage. They give us some context for the footage from All In. It was the biggest show they were ever a part of. After a long explanation about FTR and the guy who cannot be named, they share the footage, which shows Punk viciously punching Jack Perry before getting him in a choke.
FTR comes out and says this is a waste of time. We’re still talking about things from 8 months ago. Cash Wheeler calls them petty little bitches. Dax Harwood says that this company wouldn’t be here without the Young Bucks, but FTR has eclipsed them as the best tag team. They used to care about AEW, but now it is all about the EVPs.
Will Ospreay gets five minutes to talk. He heard a rumor that he is afraid of the grind, when he is travelling around the world working on all kinds of shows. Normally, he wouldn’t rise to this type of bait, but the guy who said it got to where he was for grinding on the boss’s daughter. Don’t throw stones at a man with a machine gun. Before his interview is over, he sends a warning to Bryan Danielson ahead of Dynasty.
#3. Chris Jericho, Hook & Katsuyori Shibata vs. Shane Taylor, Lee Moriarty & Anthony Ogogo – Winner: Shane Taylor Promotions
#4. Kazuchika Okada vs. Cristiano Argento – Winner: Kazuchika Okada
Kazuchika Okada grabs a microphone and accepts Pac’s challenge. Pac makes his entrance and heads to the ring, but The Young Bucks blindside him. The Elite look to take out Pac, but FTR makes the save. It’s not enough, though, as Okada introduces a steel chair. FTR eats an EVP trigger, and then Okada swings the chair at Pac’s head.
We have a champagne toast with Toni Storm and Thunder Rosa. Renee Paquette asks Toni what she wants to say, but she throws champagne on Rosa instead. Storm celebrates knocking Rosa down until Deonna Purrazzo shows up. Deonna tries to help Rosa, but is shrugged off, so she walks out.
#5. Mariah May vs. Anna Jay – Winner: Mariah May
Anna Jay chokes Mariah May after the match until Stardom’s Mina Shirakawa makes the save. She gets some champagne and feeds it to Mariah before planting a big kiss on her lips. They could be good friends.
Mercedes Mone talks about her upcoming TBS title match. She is asked who she would rather face, but before she can answer, a mystery attacker takes her out.
#6. [AEW World Championship Eliminator] Samoa Joe vs. Dustin Rhodes – Winner: Samoa Joe
Samoa Joe attacks Dustin Rhodes after the match, until Swerve Strickland shows up. Joe has to retreat, and the episode ends with Strickland holding the AEW World Championship in the air.
