Welcome to another edition of WWE Recap Report — a breakdown of the biggest takeaways of the week from WWE programming for those who may have missed out.
Whether you need to catch up on a show, had too busy of a week to stay on top of the breaking news or just skipped out on WWE as a whole, I’ve got you covered.
Obviously, not every single thing will be recapped here in detail. But this is your TL;DR of the week to be caught up to speed before the next Monday Night Raw so you’re not left in the dark.
With that being said, here is a quick rundown of this week in WWE.
MONDAY NIGHT RAW
- Riddle defeated Chad Gable by pinfall.
- Randy Orton defeated Otis by pinfall.
- Dana Brooke and Reggie defeated Tamina and R-Truth by pinfall.
- The Street Profits defeated The Mysterios by pinfall to become No. 1 contenders for the Raw Tag Team Championship. They will face RK-Bro at WWE Day 1.
- AJ Styles cut a promo on Omos, but was interrupted by Grayson Waller, followed by Apollo Crews and Commander Azeez. Styles then beat Crews by pinfall.
- Kevin Owens defeated Cedric Alexander by pinfall.
- Damian Priest retained the United States Championship over Dolph Ziggler but lost the match by disqualification after refusing to heed to the referee’s five-count.
- The Miz and Maryse renewed their vows with Eric Bischoff as their officiant. Edge interrupted and orchestrated blood to fall on all of them, Brood-style.
NXT
- Grayson Waller started the show with a promo about AJ Styles and Dexter Lumis. Odyssey Jones interrupted, but when he stepped in the ring, Waller immediately walked away. Jones is filling in for Lumis.
- Grayson Waller defeated Odyssey Jones by pinfall. After the match, a video message from AJ Styles played on the TitanTron. He’ll be at NXT next week at New Year’s Evil.
- Promo: Riddle appeared on the TitanTron and argued with WALTER over MSK wanting a tag title shot that Imperium turned down. After some bickering, Riddle challenged Imperium to a six-man tag team match for New Year’s Evil.
- Brian Kendrick didn’t come out for his match against Harland. Instead, Andre Chase came out, saying it was a teachable moment. Joe Gacy volunteered Chase to replace Kendrick. Harland defeated Andre Chase by referee stoppage.
- Backstage, Solo Sikoa drew the ire of Legado del Fantasma, who have issues with Elektra Lopez’s relationship with Xyon Quinn, who had given her an ultimatum earlier in the night. It’s him, or Legado.
- Tiffany Stratton defeated Fallon Henley by pinfall.
- The contract signing for the Roderick Strong and Carmelo Hayes title unification match went about as well as expected. Trash talking led to Trick Williams being put through the table by The Creed Brothers.
- Solo Sikoa defeated Santos Escobar by pinfall.
- On the roof, Harland threatened to throw Bodhi Hayward off the roof until Joe Gacy talked him down.
- Solo Sikoa was then attacked by Boa backstage.
- Von Wagner defeated Malik Blade by pinfall. Wagner was about to hurt Blade some more until Edris Enofe pulled Blade out of the ring. Backstage, Robert Stone was watching a monitor and shook his head.
- Cora Jade and Raquel Gonzalez defeated Io Shirai and Kay Lee Ray by pinfall.
MAIN EVENT
- T-Bar defeated Mark Andrews by pinfall
- Veer Mahaan defeated Shelton Benjamin by pinfall.
NXT UK
- This was a special New Year’s edition.
FRIDAY NIGHT SMACKDOWN
- This was a clip show of the top moments of 2021.
