Welcome to another edition of WWE Recap Report — a breakdown of the biggest takeaways of the week from WWE for those who may have missed out.
Whether you need to catch up on a show, had too busy of a week to stay on top of the news or just skipped out on WWE as a whole, I’ve got you covered.
Obviously, not every single thing will be recapped here in detail. But this is your TL;DR of the week to be caught up to speed before the next Monday Night Raw so you’re not left in the dark.
With that being said, here is a quick rundown of this week in WWE.
WWE MONDAY NIGHT RAW
- Becky Lynch announced she is pregnant and vacated the Raw Women’s Championship to Asuka.
- No DQ Match: Bobby Lashley beat Humberto Carrillo by submission. MVP talked to Lashley backstage about wanting to get him back on track to fighting for the WWE title. MVP called Lana a cage, which made her flip out.
- Zelina Vega’s stable is having some in-fighting, for some reason.
- Angel Garza beat Akira Tozawa by pinfall.
- Drew McIntyre came out and gave Austin Theory a Claymore (which Andrade and Garza laughed at), then hit Garza with one, too.
- McIntyre beat Andrade by pinfall and announced that he’ll fight King Corbin next week in a brand-to-brand invitational. It seems WWE is easing up on the brand split due to the ratings issues.
- The IIconics interrupted A Moment of Bliss and then beat Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross by pinfall. They’ll get a tag title shot next week.
- R-Truth, Cedric Alexander and Ricochet beat Brendan Vink, Shane Thorne and MVP by pinfall. Lashley then laid out R-Truth and said he wanted to talk to MVP.
- Jinder Mahal will have a hero’s journey back to the top.
- Shayna Baszler talked smack about Becky getting knocked up and said the kid is going to suck, especially since we know who the father is.
- Seth Rollins got himself and Murphy disqualified in a tag team match against Aleister Black and Rey Mysterio. He then rammed Mysterio’s eye into the steel steps, causing it to bleed.
- The Street Profits beat The Viking Raiders in basketball with a score of 74-2. However, Erik and Ivar let them win.
- Natalya took offense to Shayna’s comments about Becky. Shayna said Nattie won’t ever have kids and that the Hart dynasty is going to die with her. Baszler then beat Natalya by pinfall.
- Edge said he’s ready to move on from Randy Orton. The Viper came out and congratulated him on being the better man at WrestleMania, but then said that while the better man won, the better wrestler didn’t. Edge has fought in two non-traditional wrestling matches since coming back and he knows that he doesn’t have the skill to match Orton’s God-given ability. But if he’s up for the challenge, they can have a straight-up wrestling match at Backlash.
NXT
- Matt Riddle and Timothy Thatcher vs. Imperium (Marcel Barthel and Fabian Aichner) defeated Matt Riddle and Timothy Thatcher by pinfall to win the NXT Tag Team Championship!
- Tegan Nox defeated Indi Hartwell by pinfall.
- Interim NXT Cruiserweight Championship Tournament Match: Jake Atlas defeated Tony Nese by pinfall.
- NXT TakeOver: In Your House was announced for June 7th.
- Cameron Grimes defeated Finn Balor by pinfall (due to Damian Priest striking Balor with the nightstick) Priest then hit Balor with The Reckoning on a steel chair and revealed he was the one who attacked Balor a few weeks back.
- Interim NXT Cruiserweight Championship Tournament Match: Gentleman Jack Gallagher defeated Isaiah “Swerve” Scott by pinfall.
- Kayden Carter defeated Aliyah by submission.
- In a Dinner with The Garganos segment, Johnny Gargano talked about how he beat Dominik Dijakovic, which must say a lot about how Keith Lee in a flavor of the month. Candice LeRae touted herself about beating Kacy Catanzaro, too, who is just an example of what they’ll do to every undeserving individual in NXT, like Mia Yim, who keeps getting opportunities even after she fails. Lee and Yim are definitely their next targets.
- Matt Riddle defeated Timothy Thatcher by pinfall. Thatcher attacked Riddle after the match.
WWE MAIN EVENT
- Jinder Mahal defeated Denzel Dejournette by pinfall
- Bianca Belair defeated Ruby Riott by pinfall
WWE FRIDAY NIGHT SMACKDOWN
- Elias beat King Corbin by pinfall to advance in the Intercontinental Championship tournament.
- Dana Brooke beat Naomi by pinfall.
- Charlotte Flair did some trash talking against Bayley and Sasha Banks in a promo segment. Bayley will fight Flair next week.
- Daniel Bryan beat Drew Gulak by submission to advance in the Intercontinental Championship tournament.
- Otis and Braun Strowman beat The Miz and John Morrison by pinfall.
WWE 205 LIVE
- Tyler Breeze defeated Tehuti Miles by pinfall.
- Gentleman Jack Gallagher defeated Tony Nese by pinfall.
