WWE RAW (8/12/2024)
Rhea Ripley opens the show. At SummerSlam, she felt embarrassment and heartbreak, but now she feels pissed off. Dominik stabbed her in the back. And the thing is… it just wasn’t deep enough. And as for Liv, she is going to remind her who the bloody hell she is. Liv Morgan and Dominik appear far away in the crowd. Liv says Daddy Dom has something he would like to get off his chest. Dominik tries to talk, but is drowned out by boos. Ripley asks the audience to quieten down so she can hear him.
Dom says he is a man and deserves to be treated like one. Ripley tried to change him, instead of letting him be himself. She made him call her “Mami”, and now he has a girl who calls him “Daddy”. Liv lets him be himself. And also, she helped him to beat his deadbeat dad. Rhea Ripley tells him that she is proud. She is proud of everything he has accomplished. Watching him grow in to the man he is today is one of her biggest accomplishments. He won gold. But the thing with his dad. She wanted Dom to beat him on his own, so there were no excuses. Liv says there is only one thing that is true, and that is Dom is a man, and is all hers. She took everything from her. Everything she loves is hers.
Ripley says she hasn’t taken everything. She left her standing, and she will have to kill her to stop her. And it’s a good job she loves the sound of her voice, because they get to find out where they are. Damian Priest appears behind them. He takes the fight to Dominik, while Ripley chases after Morgan. Priest gets Dom to the ring, where Carlito fails to save his stablemate.
#1. Damian Priest vs. Carlito – Winner: Damian Priest
The rest of the Judgment Day blindsides him after the match. Liv Morgan shows up, but is scared off by Ripley. JD McDonagh takes a super kick to save Finn Balor. Dirty Dom tries to hit a surprise attack on Ripley and Priest, but is caught. Ripley almost delivers a Riptide to Dominik, and luckily for him, he is saved for Liv.
Bo Dallas says it all started in Baltimore. The Wyatt Sicks had their debut last week, where it all began. Something big is happening to him. Uncle Howdy says the work must continue. Other doors shall open. Bo Dallas repeatedly says “My life for you”.
#2. Odyssey Jones vs. Vincent Winey – Winner: Odyssey Jones
The Final Testament appears. Karrion Kross tries to drive a wedge between The New Day and Odyssey Jones, but Xavier Woods says it isn’t working. Kofi Kingston challenges them to a six-man tag next week, and Kross accepts.
#3. [Texas Tornado Tag] Alpha Academy (w/ Maxxine Dupri) vs. American Made – Winners: American Made*
*Ivy Nile attacks Maxxine Dupri and locks in a submission on the announce table. This distracts Otis, which leaves Tozawa vulnerable to a double team.
Pete Dunne says Sheamus held him down. If the Brutes were truly under his wing, where is Ridge Holland now? He doesn’t want to hear the name Sheamus ever again. He is the Bruiserweight, and it is his time.
WWE humorously broke down how much weight impacted Seth Rollins when Bronson Reed hit his six Tsunami’s.
In a promo, Shayna Baszler name the stable of herself, Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark as the Pure Fusion Collective.
#4. [Tag Team #1 Contenders] Damage CTRL vs. Pure Fusion Collective – Winners: No Contest
Isla Dawn jumped in and stopped Iyo Sky from winning the match. The tag team champions make an example of both teams and stop them from becoming #1 contenders.
R-Truth tries to cheer up The Miz by telling him he has a title match against Bron Breakker tonight. But Breakker already has a match… and The Miz finds out he actually has a match with Bronson Reed. Randy Orton shows up to motivate The Miz, who goes off to wrestle Reed hyped up. Truth asks Orton if he stands a chance, and Orton does not respond convincingly.
Randy Orton makes his way to the ring. He says at Bash At Berlin, he will make history and become a 15-time World Champion. Gunther does not let him say much more. He puts him over, before saying he took all the potential he has… and wasted it. This is a new era for the Ring General. There is no room for people who waste their potential. He won’t play a role anymore.
Randy Orton says he never claimed to be perfect. He made a lot of mistakes. He made more mistakes than everybody in that locker room. Randy owned up to those mistakes and changed course. He reminds Gunther who he is. He says this is a curse? That is wrong. It is a gift. He has done it his way the entire time. He appreciates his opinion, but he has done pretty damn good for himself.
Gunther does not agree when he said he is unpredictable. He is so sure that he will defeat him. When it comes down to it, he always screws it up. His grandfather was a screwup. His father was a screwup. And he is the biggest screwup of them all.
Randy Orton stares him down while Drew McIntyre enters with a microphone. Gunther is distracted for a second, which allows Orton the opportunity to hit the RKO. CM Punk blindsides Drew McIntyre, but he was ready for it. Drew takes off his belt and attempts to whip Punk, but misses, and Punk takes the belt to whip him.
Backstage, Ludwig Kaiser tells Sheamus he isn’t done with him yet. Pete Dunne jumps Sheamus and assaults him with a shillelagh.
