Kevin Owens is a special guest on commentary for tonight.

We start with a recap of Becky Lynch returning at Summerslam and winning the SmackDown Women’s Championship.

Out comes Becky. The Man has come around to Little Rock and it feels good to be back on top and she missed us. When she had to give up the women’s title, she felt like she was giving up a part of her identity and she was worked hard to get back to where she is now. She now has a new set of priorities, and if we thought she was deadly before, we haven’t seen nothing yet. As for Summerslam, she says that she’s sorry for absolutely nothing. She’s been in WWE long enough to know everything is about timing, and that when opportunity meets preparation, then nothing is off limits. Out comes Bianca.

Bianca says she isn’t here to make excuses, but if Becky thinks is ok about what happened at Summerslam, uh uh. She’s worked too hard for Becky to erase what she has been doing in 26 seconds. And since she accepted Becky’s challenge, why doesn’t Becky accept her challenge tonight? Out comes Zelina Vega. Zelina says Bianca already embarrassed herself once before and no one wants to see that again. She should fall back and instead of begging for a rematch, maybe she should have the match with Becky. Then comes Carmella. She says both Bianca and Zelina need to get out the way because she needs to face the most beautiful women in WWE. She was told one hour prior that she was Sasha’s replacement, and she talks about not being able to get her hair done before Liv Morgan comes out.

Liv says she doesn’t understand why Carmella and Zelina are out here since they both get beaten week after week, but if it’s a contender Becky’s looking for, she’s right here. Carmella says Liv has been sitting in catering so why is she out here? Bianca says this has nothing to do with any of them and challenges Becky again. Becky says no before leaving and posing with the title.

All four women brawl before Liv Morgan stands tall.

Liv Morgan vs. Bianca Belair vs. Zelina Vega vs. Carmella – Number 1 Contender’s Elimination Match

Belair wins with the KOD on Morgan.

Winner: Bianca Belair

Paul Heyman is backstage and he’s asked where he stands. Heyman tells Braxton that he stands where he always stand, a little to the side of the Tribal Chief, Roman Reigns. He now needs to help prepare Roman for his family celebration. He tries entering Roman’s locker room, but the door is locked.

We get a recap of Summerslam’s main event. Back from commercial, Heyman is still outside Roman’s locker room and Kayla is still there. He asks her if she doesn’t have anyone else to bother. The Usos eventually ask Heyman if he’s been waiting all that time outside before interrogating him. The Usos first suggest Heyman knew Lesnar would be at Summerslam.

Heyman says he didn’t and he wouldn’t try to sabotage what they worked so hard to build. Next, they ask Heyman why they sent them to the back before the match with Cena. Heyman says Roman gave that order and The Usos take offense for them pinning it on Roman. Usos tell Heyman he just making excuses before going back in the locker room and locking the doors.

Cesaro vs. Chad Gable

Cesato wins by DQ when Otis attacks Cesaro while swinging Gable.

Winner by DQ;m: Cesaro

After the match, the two jump Cesaro with a clothesline/German suplex combo followed by a splash by Otis.

Kayla Braxton is in the parking lot expecting Roman before Baron Corbin pulls up, sporting a new look and a fancy car. Also shaved his beard. He tells Kayla to address him as happy Corbin and that his luck has changed as he is now rich. The camera pans to Corbin’s logo patched into the steering wheel.

Out comes Corbin with a new titantron and entrance music. He comes out and says he was thinking about bankruptcy and his WWE career being over and he’s now the happiest man in the world as he’s filthy rich.

A video package of Corbin in Vegas during Summerslam weekend plays. He was the mayor of Jackpot city, wearing expensive clothing, drove here in a Bentley and his wife welcomed him home. But one thing that would help him become even happier is something we can’t help him with. He calls out Big E, and he comes out.

Big E says he’s happy for Corbin and that he doesn’t smell anymore. Corbin says he wants to make things right with Big E after stealing the MITB briefcase. He offers to purchase the briefcase for 20,000. Big E declines and then ups the offer to 50,000. He again declines. He says to accept the offer because he’d probably fail to cash in anyway. Big E says just like Corbin. He says yes, just like him and makes a final offer of 100,000. Big E ponders it and says hell no. But he does have a lot of things he could spend that money on. He pulls out a half eaten sandwich, a pencil, and an Arkansas toy. Corbin says he’ll regret not accepting his offer. Big E says he’s done here so he tells Corbin to not hit the bricks or he’ll slap the smile off his face. Corbin leaves.

A recap of Edge/Rollins at Summerslam.

Pre-recorded segment seed Edge saying that Summerslam was wild and paid for it, because he had to go to a dark place to find the most savage version of himself and it affected him at home and wherever he went. But he did it and now this albatross around his neck is over and done with and he’s moving on to what Seth cost him, and that’s the Universal Championship.

Seth is backstage looking displeased. He has only one thing to say to Edge. Congratulations. Some people think it was the match of the year, one of Edge’s greatest victories and for him, a loss that taught him something about himself. It pains him to admit, but he won his respect and the life he built for himself and it got him thinking, if he wants to fight his way back to the Universal Championship, maybe he needs to be more like Edge.

Roman Reigns is backstage walking and he sees Heyman waiting outside his locker room. He asks him to open the door and asks him if he’s coming in. He says yes.

Rick Boogs and King Nakamura vs. Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode

Boogs picks up the win for his team again with the pump handle slam on Ziggler.

Winners: Rick Boogs and King Nakamura

Sonya Deville is backstage and is greeted by a returning Naomi. Naomi is excited to be back and she’s asked what her first match is. Sonya says that she wasn’t aware that she was here, but she’ll find something for her. Naomi reminds her she’s a two time Smackdown Women’s Champion and Sonya says she’ll get back to her.

Rey Mysterio hypes Dominik up before his match.

Dominik Mysterio vs. Sami Zayn

Zayn wins with the Helluva Kick.

Winner: Sami Zayn

After the match, Rey tries to help Dominik up but Dominik refuses his help as they walk up the ramp.

The Bloodline is backstage before their celebration and Paul gives Roman the Universal Title and Roman looks at him and Roman tells Paul he is family and he loves him.

Out come the Bloodline. Roman hands the title and mic over to Paul. Heyman says The Tribal Chief has given us permission to acknowledge him, and it’s our lucky night because we can acknowledge Roman and The Usos. This is the moment in the show where all get to celebrate the face that we have “Ce-na” enough of John after the beating he received at Summerslam. While Heyman is speaking, Finn Balor interrupts.

Balor tells Roman that he got screwed out of their match, and he tells Cena that he hasn’t forgotten about him. Between Edge and Brock Lesnar talking about the Universal Championship, he was going to challenge Roman at Extreme Rules.

But he’s now learned he can’t trust anyone, and challenges him for the Universal Championship on SmackDown next week. There’s a tense moment before Balor attacks Roman. The Usos jump him before The Street Profits come out to jump him. Balor hits Coup de Grace on Jimmy as Roman leaves with an angry look.
