Monday Nights Raw is being praised by most fans this week and for good reason. That was one of the best episodes of Raw in a long time and changes to the script may be the reason why.
The original plan was to kick the show off with Roman Reigns confronting Sheamus in a talking segment. I don’t know if the plan was for Reigns to win the title, but the segment with Stephanie was not in the script prior to this weekend.
Also, as EWN reported on Monday, Tommy Dreamer was supposed to finish his TV commitments with WWE at the TLC pay-per-view but he was asked to appear on Raw so the Extreme Rules match was likely something decided upon on Monday. During last week’s NXT conference call, Triple H was asked about how to fix WWE and he indicated that he wasn’t sure what could be done, but they were working on improving the product.
This week’s Raw was a clear reaction to the recent ratings numbers. Despite what some may say, Vince McMahon does care and keep in mind that they are working on bringing in more big name sponsors so they need to keep their numbers up. (Source Greg Beck)
