Jakks Pacific is getting back in business with WWE. The company announced today that they have signed a global licensing agreement with WWE and will create a new line of products for them. The deal will include production, distribution and sale of WWE-licensed products for cosplay, seasonal costumes, radio control vehicles and more, as well as action figures for the Asia-Pacific region. Mattel will retain the master toy license for WWE; that contract runs through 2019.

Jakks is best known among wrestling fans for making WWE action figures during the 1990s and early 2000s. They have a number of licensing deals with big-name companies and brands including DC Universe, Disney Princess, Care Bears, Black & Decker, Godzilla, Justin Bieber, Nintendo and more.

“We are pleased to once again be partnering with a franchise as epic as WWE,” said John Blaney, Executive Vice President of Marketing, JAKKS Pacific. “Our toy role-play and dress up product will only be enhanced by adding the WWE license to our portfolio. To have the opportunity to bring these larger-than-life personalities to consumers through our toy aesthetic is incredible, and we are looking forward to bringing our products to market.”

“In addition to our long-standing master toy partnership with Mattel, we are excited to expand our toy portfolio with a company as innovative and creative as JAKKS Pacific,” said Casey Collins, WWE Executive Vice President, Consumer Products. “This new line of products will bring to life our favorite WWE Superstars and Divas in a new way that we are sure our fans and collectors of all ages will enjoy.”

The new products will be available starting next year.
