Braun Strowman will have another shot at the Universal Championship, as he will face Brock Lesnar at the Royal Rumble. With that in mind, will he finally claim the title at the first pay-per-view of the year?

The Monster Among Men has been a dominant force in the WWE since his debut. He has been presented as a wrestler that can easily wreak havoc, but he has not become the Universal Champion until now.

In order to do that, he will have to beat the defending champion, Brock Lesnar, at the 2019 Royal Rumble. In their previous encounters, the Beast has defeated Strowman, but things may be different now.

Braun Strowman is one of the faces of Monday Night RAW and has retained his place in the title picture over the last few months.

Since Roman Reigns (who received a major push from the company) relinquished the title due to health issues, it was expected that Strowman would become the champion and (would) bring the title back to RAW on a full-time basis.

Yet, the WWE decided to hand Lesnar the belt, even though they knew the Universal title would be defended very few times. As Lesnar is a part-time wrestler, he works a limited schedule and he makes rare appearances on TV and pay-per-views.

Consequently, fans tend to lose their interest to the show and this can be shown on the low ratings. But, maybe the company has taken the decision to turn things around and push the full-time wrestlers and not the part-time ones.

The McMahon family announced on RAW they will change the way they run RAW and SmackDown and will give the WWE Universe what they want. And, without a doubt, the fans want a full-time wrestler to be the Universal Champion.

With that in mind, Strowman seems like the ideal option. He is one of the top wrestlers in the roster, a dominant force inside the ring and, most importantly, a fan favourite.

And with the company looking for better ratings next year, what a better way to achieve this than making the Monster Among Men the Universal Champion and the face of Monday Night RAW.

That said, it remains to be seen whether the creative team will finally change its plans and hand Strowman the belt or they will continue their unsuccessful strategy and go on to Wrestlemania 35 with Lesnar as the champion.
