On August 17, 2014, the world saw many WWE championships change hands. We saw Dolph Ziggler shockingly win the Intercontinental Championship from The Miz, Paige defeat AJ Lee to recapture the Divas Championship, and sadly for fans of John Cena, Brock Lesnar decimate and conquer John Cena for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

Another unfortunate win was where Jack Swagger was forced to pass out during his Flag Match against Rusev. I do have a question for all of YOU fans though, what do you think SummerSlam would have been like if the wrestlers from TNA Wrestling made a surprise appearance that wasn’t written into the script and started another invasion?

Sure, most of you would assume that they’d all come out during the WWE Championship main event and repeat what the Nexus did during their debut on RAW a few years ago. Honestly, a repeat is just boring, it will only make internet fans begin bashing WWE for not being able to create something fresher on Twitter (the website they use most).

BUT, the invasion would not be as simple as you might think, why? Here’s a popular line, if I were in charge, how would I have done the invasion, but no, I’m not going down that repetitive route. Instead, here’s how I’d vision the invasion:

Pre-Show: Rob Van Dam vs. Cesaro

Though I only caught a few glimpses of the match, the invasion would slowly begin with a WWE camera purposely catching a few flat-black SUV’s pulling into the parking structure. Like most “surprise” guests, they wouldn’t get out of the SUV’s, but they would however slowly drive within the structure as if they were eying down WWE officials and talents backstage.

Once they’ve found a dark portion of the garage, they still wouldn’t exit the vehicles, leaving some people backstage wondering what the deal is and who’s within the SUV’s.

Hulk Hogan’s appearance on stage:

Even though many have already forgotten that unmarked cars have found its way into the building, everyone is focused on The Immortal one whom is cutting a promo of the WWE Network and how it costs $9.99. I admit, this bored me when I heard his music start because I already knew what was to come.

However, mid-through, before he can even finish the Network promo……the entire arena goes dark. After 2 minutes of complete darkness, not even the stage lights nor titan-tron are on, a slightly lit-up spotlight shines upon the stage at a figure with its back turned to the crowd and cameraman. On the back of the persons jacket reveals the Scorpion in plain Black & White, leaving every fan to assume it’s The Icon Sting.

Without turning around, the spotlight shuts off for a brief 10 seconds, leading to all lights in the arena turning back on and on stage, an out cold bald-headed Hulk Hogan laying in a full-spread-eagle. Now I know you’re about to assume there would be a TNA shirt laid across his body….well, close, but not close enough.

Instead….the TNA logo would be sprayed in giant black letters on the actual STAGE and over Hulk’s body. With WWE’s production truck forcing a commercial break so they would be able to do what they could to clean the mess left by whoever left it….

The Miz vs. Dolph Ziggler

Though they attempted to clean the logo from the stage….not successful enough.

Throughout the match, a number of blank white masks begin to emerge within the crowd but don’t exactly do anything that causes attention to be drawn. However, similar to the Hulk incident at the start of the show, the lights in the arena go out and all that’s heard are a lot of slams inside the ring and multiple chair shots.

If you’re thinking an attack took place, that part your right about, but the masked people in the crowd are sitting as they were throughout the match, not moving a muscle. In the ring, both Miz & Ziggler are laid out with the referee laid out outside the ring.

Because of the “carnage”, WWE COO Paul Levesque would end up having to come out to address the problem, demanding to know who has been behind the issues since the start of the show. If you began to think the lights went out again…..you’re wrong. But not yet though.

AJ Lee vs. Paige

For the first time, instead of fighting each other for the strap, they’re both on edge about what’s been going on during the show. Both Divas, back-to-back with each other fearing that what happened in the previous match will happen to them….and they’re wrong…for now.

They let their guards down and start the match. But, as it plays through, the same masked people emerge again in the crowd after briefly disappearing.

For a split second, the lights go out but come back on revealing the masked people standing at the guard-rails looking into the ring but not doing anything.

It isn’t until after the match and Paige is on stage celebrating that the lights go out, coming back on seconds later with Paige no longer on stage leaving everyone to assume she’s been “kidnapped”.

To avoid giving the situation anymore attention than it already has, the night moves on.

Rusev vs. Jack Swagger

The masked people are still standing at the guard-rails but nothing out of the ordinary takes place, letting the match go on as scheduled.

Dean Ambrose vs. Seth Rollins (Lumberjack)

Here’s where you may think it gets interesting. You’d think that the lumberjacks are all WWE superstars….well, most of them are. Volunteering themselves, a few of the masked people have taken out a few of them and put themselves in those spots but don’t exactly make any moves during majority of the match.

That is, until Kane interferes. As Kane has exited the ring after causing a riot in the ring, the lights have gone out yet again, all movement in the ring has stopped but what can be heard is Kane actually screaming in and from pain with a large fireball being flashed and all that is seen is Kane being held and restrained by the masked people dressed in all Black.

After another 2 minutes, the lights come back on with Kane missing, the ring cleared with Ambrose and Rollins laid flat out in the ring, with only the referee standing dumbfounded between the two, wondering what to do next. Yet, all he can do is exit the ring with a blank face with so much going through his head.

Chris Jericho vs. Bray Wyatt

Like Rusev vs Jack Swagger….the match plays through as scheduled, however, on the titan-tron, the TNA iMPACT! logo is seen within a static effect, while WWE’s logo is seen crossed out on the screen UNDER the main tron.

Stephanie McMahon vs. Brie Bella

With the TNA iMPACT! logo still on the tron, the music videos of Brie and Stephanie don’t bother being shown but only music is played.

As the match progresses, in the middle of the match, the lights go out, coming back on with it not being Brie in the ring with Stephanie, but a masked person standing still staring at McMahon. The curious Stephanie slowly walks towards the person, attempting to reach for their mask, but once she’s close enough, the person grabs her by the throat, cuing the lights to go off.

Upon the lights coming back on…..no one, but the ref, is in the ring. Commentary highly shocked with the events going on tonight.

Roman Reigns vs. Randy Orton

The match carries on as scheduled, though everyone in the crowd are looking everywhere in hopes it “doesn’t” happen again.

John Cena vs. Brock Lesnar

Though the match plays on like normal for the first few minutes, the masked people begin to jump the guard-rail, but not making an immediate move yet.

A few minutes later, 2 more masked people walk out on stage, holding Vince, Stephanie, and Triple H tied and taped up signalling MORE masked people coming from behind the stage and standing around the stage in crowd view. As the people holding the McMahon’s on stage begin walking slowly down the ramp with McMahon’s in hand, Cena and Lesnar stop what they’re doing while the entire ringside team (commentary, timekeepers, etc) have vacated their positions to avoid any hurt.

Once they’ve reached the ring, more masked people have jumped the guard-rail while the original masked people have jumped onto the apron of the ring.

John being his usual “superman” self dares them to enter the ring while Lesnar just folds his arms as if he knows they don’t have the balls to get in and fight.

What they weren’t expecting was upon his stance, all of the masked individuals charge the ring taking both Lesnar and Cena out limb by limb causing the entire crowd to start booing for stopping the main event they all paid to see.

Following a rough beat down, only 1 masked person begins to walk into the ring as the others standby around the ring. After eying the McMahon’s down…..the person unmasks and reveals themselves to be none other than Dixie Carter. This reveal causes Vince to ball his eyes open in shock that she was able to cause such chaos.

No words are spoken from Dixie, but the fade out of the PPV signalling the end of the show.

What happened next? Part 2?
