Fight Pass “Prelims” (7 p.m. ET):

Lightweight Bout: Nazareno Malegarie vs. Joaquim Silva

Round 1: Malegarie opened the fight with a left hand that backed up Silva. Silva is leaning in with a fork, then landing an overhand right. Silva is throwing more volume while Malegarie is holding back and landing shots that he can when he can. Silva clinched with him halfway throughout the round and was worked over with body strikes. Malegarie shot in on a takedown, but stuffed. He worked hard on the fence to try and get it while working over Silva with knees. Malegarie with a nice left hook. Malegarie is bleeding from his right temple. Silva landing a flying knee to the face of Malegarie to end the round.

Round 2: After mixing it up early in the first minute of the round, Malegarie landed a single leg takedown into half guard. This doesn’t last for long as Silva scrambled off his back and to his feet. Malegarie is back peddling as Silva is just throwing and landing bombs on his feet. Silva lands a flying to the ribs of Malegarie at 1:15.

Round 3: Malegarie is eating straight ribs to the head, but is sure finding a home for his own left hook to the chin of Silva. Not a ton of action in this round as Malegarie is a bloody and tired mess at this point. Silva continues to keep the fight standing as he dominates his striking. Malegarie starts throwing more strikes towards the end of the round.

Result: Joaquim Silva def. Nazareno Malegarie via split decision (28-29, 30-27, 30-27)

Middleweight Bout: Joe Riggs vs. Ron Stallings

Round 1: Stallings opens up with a lot of kicks as Riggs is very active in his movement. Stallings pressured him up against the fence and blasted him with knees that had him rocked at one point. Riggs covered up, starting throwing some strikes and backed up Stallings. Stallings pulled guard and went for an armbar, then switched it go a leg lock, but Riggs scrambled his way out of that situation. Riggs got on top after another scrambled and landed some big elbows from the top. Riggs changes the tide of the fight as he just lays it on thick to end the round.

Round 2: Riggs opened the round with a huge left hook that dropped Stallings and Riggs swarmed him. Riggs got in guard and started throwing bombs from the top. Stallings was hurt and bloody at this point. Stallings survives at this point, but Riggs has an injury on his eye that the doctor checks on. Riggs said he couldn’t see and the fight is called. The injury happened when he was kicked in the face with an illegal up kick in the first round. Yes, the first round.

Result: Joe Riggs def. Ron Stallings via DQ (illegal upkick) at 2:28 of R2

FOX Sports 1 “Prelims” (8 p.m. ET):

Featherweight Bout: Clay Collard vs. Tiago Trator

Round 1: Both men come out and clinch right away. It turns into some dirty boxing until Collard escapes and lands a right hook. Trator caught him with a combo to the ribs that backed him up. Collard did some taunting, which did not make Tractor happy. Tractor with a body lock and pressed him up against the fence. Tractor with a trip takedown and into half guard. Beautiful takedown. Collard escaped, but Tractor held him down and got Collard’s back to close the round with a rear-naked choke.

Round 2: Tractor hurt Collard early in the round with a right hook. Collard started throwing spinning kicks allowing Tractor to get his back and clinch. Collard spun out of the clinch moments later. Collard is just throwing spinning moves, which aren’t landing. Odd thinking. Collard with a series of jabs to the face and body of Tractor. Collard with a left hand that drops Tractor, he swarmed on him and in the process Tractor went for an armbar, but later let it go. They scramble and Tractor got on top then got the back of Collard. He works for a choke, but couldn’t get it and the bell sounded.

Round 3: After exchanging for the first part of the round, Tractor looked for a single leg takedown, but that was stuffed. Collard threw a lot of strikes, but most of them didn’t land and he took a lot of chances in this round with those strikes. Unnecessary for this stage in the fight that also resulted in him bleeding from his nose and mouth. Collard landed a takedown, but Tractor was quick to get back to his feet.

Result: Tiago Trator def. Clay Collard via split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28)

Women’s Bantamweight Bout: Jessica Andrade vs. Raquel Pennington

Round 1: Both girls came out swinging. Andrade laid it on thick early, but Pennington clinched with her on the fence. Andrade got a takedown for a moment, but Pennington got to her feet. Andrade with a knee to the gut, but Pennington answered with her own. Pennington with a series of good shots and elbows that rocked Andrade. Andrade defended this by applying a takedown to end the round.

Round 2: Pennington lands a good combo to start the round off. Andrade doesn’t like this so she clinches with Pennington. Andrade doesn’t hold it for long as she looks a bit winded. An extreme pace in round one has done caught up with her. Pennington is starting to get the better of the two in exchanges. Short, but effective strikes are getting the job done. Pennington with a double leg takedown at 2:57. Andrade got to her feet off a scramble. She landed a stiff knee to the gut of Pennington. Pennington doesn’t like that and takes her down with a double leg takedown. Pennington got the back of Andrade and locked in a rear-naked choke, which she made Andrade tap out right before the bell sounded.

Result: Raquel Pennington def. Jessica Andrade via submission (rear-naked choke) – Round 2, 4:58

Bantamweight Bout: John Lineker vs. Francisco Rivera

Round 1: At 3:50 into the round, they start swinging and exchanging in the pocket. Lineker dropped him with a right hand, Lineker swarmed him, but some how Rivera survived. They continue to throw for the fences. Rock em sock em robots here. This is one of the wildest exchanges in in the sport of MMA. Lineker locked in a guillotine choke and Rivera tapped out.

Result: John Lineker def. Francisco Rivera via submission (guillotine choke) – Round 1, 2:08

Lightweight Bout: Paul Felder vs. Ross Pearson

Round 1: Pearson caught Felder good early in the round, which led to him clinching with Pearson moments later. Fielder landed some knees to the body of Pearson. Pearson got out of the clinch and landed a single leg takedown. Fielder got to his feet after a quick scramble. Fielder landed some elbows to the face of Pearson and then some knees to the ribs of Pearson. Excellent stuff. Pearson rocked and dropped Fielder right before the bell sounded.

Round 2: Fielder has found his range in this round and is using his long range get Pearson off his game. Pearson mixes things up with kicks that keeps Fielder back, which wasn’t the best gameplan in the world.

Round 3: Much more of the same in this fight. Fielder seemed mad in this fight and pressed forward throughout the round. Fielder was bleeding from his nose at this point and Pearson was just holding on the best he could through this round.

Result: Ross Pearson def. Paul Felder via split decision (28-29, 30-27, 29-28)

FOX Sports 1 “Prelims” (8 p.m. ET):

Women’s Strawweight Bout: Paige VanZant vs. Alex Chambers

Round 1: VanZant pressures early, but Chambers clinched with her to slow her down. VanZant got out of that after an exchange. VanZant then clinched her and landed a series of knees to the ribs of Chambers. Chambers with a right hook, but VanZant is just so dominant in the clinch. VanZant with a hip toss then swarmed her with strikes. Chambers kicked her off. Chambers grabbed a hold of VanZant, but this was a mistake as VanZant made her pay for this.

Round 2: VanZant comes out and clinches with Chambers right away. VanZant was just so much more dominate in this round with her knees that saw her continue to clinch with Chambers. The pressure that VanZant put on Chambers in this round was incredible. VanZant hurt her with two straight rights then swarmed Chambers with knees and kicks. Give it up to Chambers for not giving up VanZant laid it on thick. VanZant with a snap takedown then got in side control while she beat her down.

Round 3: VanZant came out swinging in this fight with everything she had and dropped Chambers early in the round. Chambers got to her feet, but was tagged by VanZant. VanZant got the back of Chambers then got the mount and arm bar victory.

Result: Paige VanZant def. Alex Chambers via submission (armbar) – Round 3, 1:01

Light Heavyweight Bout: Jan Blachowicz vs. Corey Anderson

Round 1: Anderson is a lot quicker than Blachowicz and it showed early on. Anderson got a double leg takedown halfway through the round, but Blachowicz managed to get his feet quickly. Anderson looked for a takedown, but was stuffed and had to work on it up against the fence. Blachowicz got the single leg takedown and worked him over with strikes.

Round 2: Blachowicz is visibly tired in this round and Anderson is taking full advantage of this. Anderson with a single leg takedown. Anderson got in half guard and just punished Blachowicz with big strikes from the top.

Round 3: Anderson opens the round off just where he left off with a takedown and then just beat him down on top. Blachowicz was just exhausted in this round and was battered in this round.

Result: Corey Anderson def. Jan Blachowicz via unanimous decision (30-25, 30-25, 29-26)

Light Heavyweight Bout: Anthony Johnson vs. Jimi Manuwa

Round 1: Johnson came out trying to finish this fight as he just threw major bombs. He rocked Manuwa and then got a double leg takedown. Johnson transitioned into half guard, but moments later Manuwa got to his feet. Johnson tagged him with a right hook. They clinched with Manuwa working over the knees of Johnson.

Round 2: Early in the round, Johnson landed a huge straight right that dropped Manuwa and then swarmed him with strikes on the ground to end the fight.

Result: Anthony Johnson def. Jimi Manuwa via knockout (punches) – Round 1, 0:28

Heavyweight Bout: Frank Mir vs. Andrei Arlovski

Round 1: Arlovski with a short right hand to open the fight. Mir clinched with Arlovski and put him on the fence. They separated shortly after. Mir with back-to-back left hooks that led to him clinching with Arlovski, but then let it go. Mir attempted to slow the pace of the fight down.

Round 2: Mir opened the round with a single leg takedown that led to him sliding into guard. Mir worked over the body of Arlovski with strikes. They were eventually stood up at 2:47. Mir does some trash talking while Arlovski becomes slower and slower as this fight pushes on. Mir landed a spinning back fists. Arlovski clinched with Mir, he landed a knee to the gut of Mir. Mir is bleeding from his right cheek. Arlovski tagged Mir, which saw Mir lose his mouth piece. It got put back in thanks to Big John to close the round.

Round 3: Arlovski missed a wild right hand early in the round and Mir clinched with him. Arlovski landed an elbow while the two were clinching. The fans started to boo in this round as Arlovski wasn’t doing much in the clinch. They were separated, Mir tagged Arlovski with a straight right. Mir swarmed him then landed a big elbow. Arlovski scrambled to his feet. Mir grabbed his neck then let it go. No guillotine choke. Mir was cut on his right temple.

Result: Andrei Arlovski def. Frank Mir via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 30-27)

Flyweight championship bout: Demetrious Johnson © vs. John Dodson

Round 1: Dodson pressured Johnson early on in the fight. Johnson shot in on a takedown, but stuffed and Dodson landed a right hook. Johnson clinched, but Dodson landed a bunch of strikes to the gut of Johnson for him to let go of it. Johnson went for a single leg, but stuffed, so Johnson followed up with a head kick. Johnson shot in on a single leg, but yet again Dodson defended it.

Round 2: Johnson opened up more of his leg kicks in this round that is leading to some head strikes that he can now land. Dodson with a single leg takedown at 4:20, but Johnson scrambled off his back and to his feet quickly. Dodson clinched with Johnson, he is the most more stronger fighter thus far. Johnson started throwing body kicks, but ate a right hand by Dodson with 52 seconds remaining in this round.

Round 3: Johnson is the one to clinch as the round begins. He lands some good elbows and strikes while in the clinch. Johnson really utilized this dirty boxing technique as he worked for a takedown. Johnson landed his first takedown with 57 seconds remaining in the round. Dodson got to his feet, Johnson landed a flying knee to close the round.

Round 4: By this point in the fight Dodson has slowed down quite a bit and it’s mostly Johnson winning at this point. Johnson is out working Dodson at this point thus Dodson is relying on clinching, which is not very effective for him as Johnson is landing short, but effective strikes that is giving him the points. Johnson breaks from this with a left hook. Dodson is getting beat down. Johnson with a double leg takedown with under a minute remaining. Dodson got to his feet quickly.

Round 5: Johnson is doing what he wants to Dodson at this point in the fight. Dodson is slower, Johnson looks like he’s just getting started at this point in the round. Johnson is one of the best fighters in the game today and showed in this fight just that.

Result: Demetrious Johnson def. John Dodson via unanimous decision (49-46, 49-46, 50-45)
