ROH Survival of the Fittest 2014: Adam Cole

ROH would not hold a 2013 Survival of the Fittest Tournament. We move on to the 2014 winner of the tournament – Adam Cole. Cole would defeat Delirious in his qualifying match for the tournament. He would go on to defeat Adam Page, Hanson, Matt Sydal, Roderick Strong, and Tommaso Ciampa in the finals of the tournament. At ROH Final Battle 2014, Adam Cole would wrestle Jay Briscoe in a losing effort for the ROH World Championship. Despite this, Adam Cole would hold the ROH World Championship for a record three times.

At Death Before Dishonor XI, Adam Cole defeated Michael Elgin in a tournament final for the ROH World Championship. He would hold the belt for 275 days before dropping it to Elgin at Best In The World 2014. At Death Before Dishonor XIV, Adam Cole would defeat Jay Lethal to win the title for a second time. However, he would drop the belt to Kyle O’Reilly at Final Battle 2016 after 105 days. O’Reilly would drop the belt back to Cole at Wrestle Kingdom 11, allowing Cole to go on a 65-day reign that would end at the hands of Christopher Daniels on the ROH 15th Anniversary Show.

In 2017, Adam Cole would sign with WWE and would be assigned to the WWE NXT brand. He would debut alongside former ROH World Tag Team Champions, Kyle O’Reilly and Bobby Fish. He would go on to become a former NXT Tag Team Champion, a former NXT Tag Team Champion, and a former NXT Champion.

Adam Cole is currently signed to WWE competing on the NXT brand as a singles competitor.
