Who Will Win the Vacant NXT Tag Team Titles? & Monday Morning Q&A

Welcome back to another Monday Morning Q&A where I toss out some questions to get a feel of how you guys and gals are feeling about certain topics.

So here are 5 questions I’d like to toss out for this week. I’ll give my answers, too, but the key here is that I want to know what YOU think! So make sure you chime in!

1) After Nash Carter was released, MSK has obviously disbanded and vacated the NXT Tag Team Championship. Who do you think will win the titles this Tuesday night?

My brain tells me The Creed Brothers are the logical choice. However, my gut tells me WWE knows that everyone knows that and wants to swerve them, so they’ll put the belts on Pretty Deadly so The Creed Brothers have something to chase.

Obviously, this was not the plan when they put the titles on MSK. Splitting up Imperium takes them out of the equation, too. Frankly, if Joe Gacy and Harland weren’t already in the NXT Championship hunt, I’d have suggested they could be a potential pick, but I don’t see that happening now.

Grayson Waller and Sanga didn’t feel like the next champions. I assumed they were contenders who would just work with MSK for a little bit and all parties would move on.

Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams could work well, but I think that’s a step down for Hayes, who will likely be the next NXT champion, instead.

All in all, my pick is Pretty Deadly, but I hope it’s The Creed Brothers.

2) The Usos will be vying for the Raw Tag Team Championship. Do you think they’ll win those belts to unify those, just like Roman Reigns?

I keep going back and forth. Originally, I thought that would be pretty stupid, but since they want The Bloodline to look unstoppable, they might as well. It’s not as if WWE cares about the tag team division anyway.

With the women’s tag team division, they like being able to take the champions and their contenders and put them on both shows. My guess is they want to do that for the other tag teams in the men’s division, too. We’re far enough away from Survivor Series that they won’t need to worry about those champion vs. champion matches for months. Maybe we’ll even finally get new tag titles (fingers crossed).

Right now, I’m leaning toward yes, The Usos are going to dethrone RK-Bro and that will eventually start the Randy Orton vs. Riddle feud.

3) Ludwig Kaiser and Raquel Rodriguez are the new names for Marcel Barthel and Raquel Gonzalez. If you had to pick, which do you prefer and why?

Both are needless, but at least with Marcel Barthel, that was his real name. I can understand WWE wanting to give him something they can trademark and own. Raquel Rodriguez was Raquel Gonzalez and Reina Gonzalez, with her real name being Victoria Gonzalez. What’s the point of making her Rodriguez now?

Ludwig Kaiser is over the top in a sense, but that’s at least trying to go for an over the top character. Raquel just changed her last name for no reason, so I prefer Kaiser, despite not being a fan of the rolls.

4) Where do you see this Ezekiel/Elias thing going in the future?

Sometimes, goofy gimmicks like this work out well. I loved Damien Mizdow, for instance. But this one just feels lesser. Why is he trying to rebrand himself?

I think WWE will get tired of the story fast and he won’t be pushed long enough to sustain it. By the time Hell in a Cell comes around, this will be dead in the water. But maybe R-Truth can get involved and save it, since he’s done that with previous silly angles.

5) Veer finally made his Raw debut. Thoughts?

I was hoping for something more than the most generic possible outcome, which is what we got. For a brief second, I was hopeful they’d bring him on as a babyface, which would be different. Now that he’s just another big tough heel and no different from before, minus being associated with Jinder Mahal and Shanky, I’ve already lost interest.

My guess is he’ll dominate people for a few weeks/months and get the Omos treatment, but to a lesser extent, before falling by the wayside. Hopefully, I’m wrong, and there’s much more positive trends in his future.
