Notable Superstars Missing from the Card
Note #1: This is not a full list of everyone on the roster who is not scheduled for the show. It excludes some people who wouldn’t have normally been expected to appear on the show for some fashion, such as some jobbers, injured talent, etc.
Note #2: Every year, there are empty spots in the Royal Rumble that could be filled by any number of the Superstars on this list. Even if they’re injured. Keep that in mind.
Injured / Inactive Stars List
- Asuka – I fully expect her to be in the Royal Rumble.
- Bayley – I expect her to return, too.
- Drew McIntyre
- Lacey Evans – Yup. She’ll be in it.
- Ridge Holland
- Sasha Banks
- Sonya Deville – I don’t think she’ll be an entrant, but I do think she’ll show up to screw Naomi and get her eliminated.
- Xavier Woods
Active Superstars Not Announced List
- Akira Tozawa
- Alexa Bliss – She’s there. Why didn’t they add her to the lineup?
- Cedric Alexander and Shelton Benjamin
- Apollo Crews and Commander Azeez – Crews should be in the Royal Rumble. Azeez most likely won’t participate.
- Cesaro – I’m stunned they didn’t bother announcing him yet for the Royal Rumble.
- Drew Gulak
- Finn Balor – I fully expect him in the Royal Rumble. No idea why he hasn’t been announced.
- Jinder Mahal and Shanky – Mahal should be in the Royal Rumble. Shanky, not so much.
- Los Lotharios
- Mace
- Mansoor – You know how this works. He’ll get a push in the weeks after this show leading up to Elimination Chamber, but not now.
- Reggie
- Rick Boogs and Shinsuke Nakamura – Both make sense for Royal Rumble spots. Nakamura’s feuding with Sami Zayn, who is also tied up with Johnny Knoxville. Maybe Nakamura is here to eliminate Zayn after he takes out Knoxville?

- The Usos – If we don’t see them involved in the Universal Championship match, I’ll be shocked.
- Veer Mahaan – He’s coming all right. Just you wait. Any day now….

- Xia Li – What’s up with her absence? Why is she not confirmed for this?
