Following the news of Vince McMahon appearing on The Pat McAfee Show next Thursday to set up a WrestleMania storyline, Adam Cole threw out the idea of making another appearance.
In July 2020, Cole appeared on the show and had a confrontation with the now-SmackDown color commentator to set up their match at TakeOver XXX, which Cole won.
They wrestled again at TakeOver: WarGames IV where Cole’s Undisputed ERA would beat McAfee, Pete Dunne, Danny Burch, and Oney Lorcan.
