Concerns arose for Jim Ross when the renowned announcer disclosed his recent visit to the ER due to experiencing shortness of breath while in Norman, Oklahoma.

Ross’ absence from this week’s “Grilling JR” podcast was attributed to his illness. The WWE Hall of Famer has faced numerous health challenges in recent years, including cancer surgery in early February and a broken hip earlier this year.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that Ross will be unable to attend the 2024 AEW Double or Nothing pay-per-view event at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Meltzer said, “He said that he has a Class A flu and raised heart enzymes to go along with breathing issues but was getting excellent care and expects to be fine in a few days.”

Ross assumed the role of play-by-play announcer for television and pay-per-view events at AEW in 2019, and in February, he extended his commitment to AEW by signing a one-year deal.
