AEW’s Swerve Strickland believes that Mercedes Mone is worth every penny it cost Tony Khan to bring the former WWE Superstar to the All Elite company.
Mone made her much-anticipated debut during the Big Business themed episode of AEW Dynamite. She also appeared on this week’s episode of AEW’s weekly Wednesday show.
On a recent edition of the “Bootleg Kev” podcast at Rolling Loud, Strickland gave his positive assertion on bringing Mone on board. He said,
“We’re building a dynasty now in AEW. For what she can do for women’s wrestling, not just for AEW, but across the industry period, it’s pivotal. She’s a matriarch for that. I’ve never seen a woman’s free agent make that kind of noise, ever. She’s top billing. She’s worth it. Hopefully that challenges other industries to boost the revenue for other female wrestlers.”
It has been reported that Mone is currently the highest-paid woman in wrestling though her salary is not $5 million a year as previously rumored.
