Following his defeat to Gabe Kidd in a No Rope Last Man Standing match at NJPW Resurgence, Eddie Kingston was confronted by Jack Perry, leading to a surprise attack from The Young Bucks. The AEW EVPs took out Kingston using the EVP trigger.
Darby Allin will replace Kingston to team up with Bryan Danielson and FTR to face off against The Elite in an Anarchy in the Arena match at Double or Nothing 2024.
Kingston received a diagnosis of a torn ACL and meniscus. According to a report from Pwinsider, Kingston met with surgeons today, and it was determined that he will probably not undergo surgery to repair his ACL and meniscus tears until July at the earliest.
He was also informed that he must wait for his tibular fracture to heal before beginning physical therapy, after which surgeons can address his knee.
Following the surgery, it is anticipated that it will take approximately ten months for him to be able to compete in the ring again, with a projected return date of around May 2025. We send our best wishes to Eddie Kingston for a swift recovery.
