AEW wrestler Andrade El Idolo may have pulled out of any involvement with the upcoming AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door event, saying he can’t work with the Japanese promotion.
In a tweet, Andrade stated his work with CMLL and AAA means he cannot work with New Japan Pro Wrestling.
While Andrade gave no explanation, it’s believed that given the relationship between NJPW and CMLL, that El Idolo, who’s worked with AAA, will not be able to work any New Japan shows.
AAA and CMLL are rival promotions, and Andrade believes his status with AAA would be jeopardized if he competed for an NJPW show.
In response, Konnan called the rivalry between the promotions an “arcane decision.”
