Are there too many championships in wrestling today, which is leading to titles becoming less important? Arn Anderson believes so.

On a recent edition of his “ARN” podcast, Arn Anderson spoke about a time in the early 1990s when WCW had two World Championships: a WCW World Championship & the NWA Worlds Championship.

During his podcast, Anderson argued that this was an example of too many championships, an issue he feels has continued to this day. He said,

“Just one title. There’s always been too many. One makes that one mean even that much more, in my opinion. Even that applies today in whatever company you’re talking about. The less titles you have, the more value they have.”

WWE currently has two top championships: Roman Reigns’ Undisputed WWE Universal Championship and Seth Rollins’ WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

While AEW only has one official World Championship, CM Punk was calling himself the ‘Real World Champion’ prior to his release from the company last month.
