As we reported last night here on eWn, AEW will be holding its first ever house show on April 9 at Daily’s Place in Jacksonville, Florida. According to a report from the Wrestling Observer, AEW is choosing to run this date to try to capitalize on the many fans who will be in the state on Florida for WrestleMania 37.
It should be noted that Jacksonville is about a three-and-a-half hour drive away from Tampa, FL, the site of WrestleMania 37. With WWE SmackDown being taped ahead of time, the idea is that fans will make the drive to Jacksonville with no wrestling in Tampa on Friday night.
Another reason they are running the house show is because there are a lot of talent who work on AEW Dark and Elevation that have not worked in front of live crowds all that often, so this will give them a chance to do that.
