Several top AEW wrestlers have suffered injuries over the past few months, including Jon Moxley, Adam Cole, Bryan Danielson, and Sammy Guevara.
Danielson is expected to be out of action until the year’s end. At the same time, Guevara has yet to receive medical clearance due to a concussion, and Cole underwent two surgeries for his fractured ankle. Jon Moxley recently returned from a concussion.
Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that injuries have caused several changes to be made to AEW’s creative plans. He wrote,
“The injury situation has greatly affected the booking as so many plans are made and have to be changed and when they are changed, it’s start from scratch and develop new plans, especially since Danielson, Cole and Jon Moxley were all figured into key things and so much had to be changed which created a domino effect on all the plans.“
