Butch officially reverted to Pete Dunne as he and Tyler Bate defeated Pretty Deadly in a tag team match on Friday’s episode of WWE SmackDown.

Pwinsider is reporting that WWE intended to build to Dunne’s return to his old gimmick on TV so the change felt organic rather than something that was put together randomly.

This explains the vignette on last week’s episode of WWE SmackDown that teased Butch reprising his Dunne gimmick.

Cody Rhodes defeated Shinsuke Nakamura in a dark match after WWE SmackDown went off the air.

Additionally, Jey Uso beat Finn Balor in a post-show dark match that lasted around ten minutes. Uso won with a spear via pinfall after dodging Balor’s Coup de Grace.

WWE had a special “Atlanta’s Own” t-shirt for hometown hero Cody Rhodes that was available at Friday’s taping. There were also exclusive Atlanta-style t-shirts for Roman Reigns, LA Knight, and “Atlanta 3:16.”

Fightful is reporting that The Unholy Union (Alba Fyre & Isla Dawn) and the Legado World Order (Santos Escobar, Humberto Carrillo, and Angel Garza) weren’t listed as the names of the teams on the official rundowns for WWE SmackDown.

However, Unholy Union is used internally quite often.
