With John Cena now being a part-time wrestler in WWE as he promotes various movies and hosts reality shows, Roman Reigns has surpassed him to become the top merchandise seller among full time WWE talents.
It should also be noted that Reigns has more interest/reactions than anyone on the roster under the age of 35. With that being said, there is said to be some resentment because he’s being pushed as “the guy,” and he’s not over like “the guy.”
Cena is scheduled to take additional time off to promote movie projects and work on others following WrestleMania 33. The feeling within the company is that there is no one ready to take Cena’s place, which is why Reigns continues to be pushed so hard.
