According to a report from Pwinsider, the morale backstage at the 2022 Royal Rumble was said to have been very low due to the constant changes made to the main matches over the past week.
Several sources noted that they were frustrated due to all of the changes. We reported earlier today here on eWn that the men’s Royal Rumble match changed nearly 20 times during the final days leading up to the show.
Additionally, the women’s Royal Rumble match had the same issues, which resulted in many of the talents involved becoming frustrated.
During several of the rehearsals for both matches, numerous changes were made from the previous days. As you’d expect, the changes led to a confusing mix of things that needed to be remembered or forgotten about. As usual, Vince McMahon was heavily involved in every aspect of the show.
One anonymous talent said, “We were all in a whirlwind. Just as you had your role and spots down, everything started over and over and now most of us were back to square one. It changed again and again and again. It wasn’t an easy night even before we hit the ring.”
