According to reports, there hasn’t been any contact between WWE and Ryback ever since Vince McMahon sent him home from a SmackDown TV taping after the two sides tried negotiating a new deal. According to sources, the feeling backstage is that WWE will either have him sit out the remainder of his current contract or will simply release him.
The demands Ryback made were a significantly higher guarantee than he was offered, as well as a number of stipulations, one of which was said to be a deal breaker that there was no way Vince McMahon would ever agree to. If they end their current relationship, Ryback would be free to work elsewhere.
The Wrestling Observer says, “it wouldn’t surprise anyone to see an announcement that he’s released at any time.”
