Booker T Says AEW’s Roster Is A Lot Like WCW

Two-time WWE Hall of Famer Booker T has said that with AEW’s roster, much like WCW, a lot of things “get lost in the shuffle.”

Booker was a stand-out performer in WCW, becoming a five-time WCW World Champion, and the final man to hold the title before the promotion went under in 2001.

During the latest episode of the Hall Of Fame podcast, Booker explained how while AEW may have a stacked roster, this has led to some names going underused:

“Yeah, there’s been a lot of guys on the show. They try to get a lot of guys on that show and highlight as many things as they possibly can. A lot of things get lost in the shuffle, of course, in doing that. WCW, back in the day, they hired a bunch of guys.

“Most of the guys, they just hired them just so they wouldn’t go to WWE. WCW had signed a bunch of guys and they were sitting at home, making money. They just didn’t want those guys to go to the WWE or back to WWE.”

AEW has faced criticism for having big debuts that aren’t followed up on, with many fans expecting better for Keith Lee than his current role in a tag-team.

AEW’s next pay per view will be Double or Nothing 2022 and will air next Sunday night.
