Michael Elgin has been arrested yet again.
According to a report from Cassidy Haynes of Bodyslam.net, Elgin missed a Pro Wrestling NOAH event back on July 10th because he was arrested for theft.
At the time, Pro Wrestling NOAH tweeted out the following,
“[7.10 Shizuoka – Notice of wrestler absence & change of match card] Michael Elgin, who was scheduled to participate in the Shizuoka event on Sunday, July 10, will be absent following the event on the 9th. For this reason, some of the matches will be changed.”
The report notes that Elgin was arrested for stealing protein powder. As of this writing, he is still incarcerated.
Due to the strict laws in Japan, Elgin is facing five years in jail. With that being said, it’s possible some sort of deal could be made.
Back in 2016, AEW star Matt Sydal (Evan Bourne in WWE) was arrested for cannabis possession in Japan. While the charges wound up being dropped, Sydal is no longer welcome in the country.
Just last year, Elgin was arrested in the United States for violating a retraining order that was filed by his former fiancé.
