As we previously reported here on eWn, Bryan Danielson suffered a broken orbital bone last week on AEW Dynamite with Claudio Castagnoli announcing the news on Saturday’s episode of Collision.
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Radio is reporting that Danielson didn’t suffer the broken orbital bone injury last week on Dynamite.
Rather, the injury took place four days earlier on Collision when Danielson wrestled Andrade El Idolo in singles action. Meltzer said,
“Yeah, I guess he went in with a black eye. They didn’t know how serious he was, because obviously, he worked on it. They shot the angle to take him out during the match. So, the injury took place when they bonked heads. It was basically a fluke. It wasn’t one of those things where he got hit too hard or anything. Andrade was doing a spinning elbow, and Danielson’s head was in one place and they bonked heads, and that happens in fights and things like that fairly often.”
You can check out a clip of the Danielson vs. Andrade match where it’s believed the injury occurred below:
Yeah, I'm almost positive the Bryan Danielson injury happened here on the rolling elbow. Clonked heads, communication with the ref and right in to the finish.
Also, if you watch the tag match from Dynamite Bryan already has a mouse under his eye before he even does anything pic.twitter.com/m7XeybaC8p
