WWE/Impact Wrestling Hall of Famer Bully Ray believes that Charlotte Flair could benefit more than anybody else from Ric Flair signing with AEW.
The Nature Boy signed with AEW last month, two years after plans to bring him in were nixed due to the backlash from Dark Side of the Ring’s ‘Plane Ride from Hell’ episode.
During a recent edition of the “Busted Open Radio” podcast, Bully Ray suggested that WWE may want to distance themselves from Ric by having Charlotte eclipse his 16 World Championship reigns. He said,
“You know who this actually benefits? Charlotte [Flair]. Daddy’s shadow’s not around right now for the next few years.
“The WWE’s gonna go, ‘We stood by you. We never put anyone else in a position to break your record, but now you’ve decided to take your talents elsewhere. To a company that has created a little bit of a problem for the WWE, now maybe one of our guys needs to become the GOAT of all GOATS and the most decorated world champion of all time.”
Charlotte is classed as a 14-time champion, with six RAW Women’s title reigns, seven SmackDown Women’s title reigns, and one run as a WWE Divas Champion.
Charlotte’s most recent title reign came to an end at WrestleMania 39 where she lost the SmackDown Women’s Championship (now the Women’s World Title) to Rhea Ripley.
