During a new interview with Proresu Today, Chris Jericho commented on his match with Kenny Omega at NJPW’s “Wrestle Kingdom” 12 pay-per-view event and having more matches with NJPW in the future. Jericho said that his match with Omega will be bigger than the Kazuchika Okada vs. Tetsuya Naito match on the same show. He also confirmed that he “got Vince McMahon’s blessing” for the Wrestle Kingdom 12 match after his last WWE contract came to an end.

Jericho confirmed that he’s currently a “free agent” and isn’t under any contract with WWE. Jericho compared his match with Omega to the Conor McGregor vs. Floyd Mayweather fight, saying it’s been a “long time coming.” Jericho put over Omega as “the best he’s ever seen” but he is “better than the best.”

When asked about future NJPW matches, Jericho said: “(Our match) might never happen again. That gives it a different level of importance…I’ve said maybe me and Kenny will never happen again, but I never said I’d only do one match. I never said this would be my last match with New Japan. Wait and see.“
