AEW star CM Punk has joked that a “bomb threat” has forced WWE to move locations for their upcoming Money in the Bank 2022 pay-per-view event.

WWE Money in the Bank 2022 was originally announced for Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium but has been moved to the MGM Grand Arena.

No explanation has been given by WWE, though its believed that low ticket sales have forced the company to downsize the show.

On Instagram, Punk claimed that the show was moved due to “another bomb threat” along with a picture of the WrestleMania 7 poster.

The 1991 event was meant to be held in the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, a venue capable of holding 100,000 fans.

By February of that year, the show had sold just 16,000 tickets and was moved to the much smaller Los Angeles Sports Arena.

WWE’s on-screen explanation was that a bomb threat, caused by Sgt. Slaughter’s anti-America gimmick had forced the move.
