On this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite, FTR put their AEW careers on the line for a shot at The Gunns’ AEW World Tag Team Championships in the main event. Despite Austin and Colten’s best efforts, Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler defeated the young upstarts to win the titles for the second time, saving their AEW careers in the process.
Following the match, Mark Briscoe, who had previously engaged in a remarkable trilogy of matches with FTR alongside his late brother Jay in 2022, appeared to celebrate with the new champions.
In response to his friends’ title win, CM Punk took to his Instagram Stories, sharing a picture of Dax Harwood, Cash Wheeler, and Mark Briscoe celebrating together. Punk’s Instagram Stories have obviously been a hot topic of discussion over the past few weeks.
Despite no official announcement pertaining to their contract status yet, FTR’s title win has seemingly put a rest to the rumors regarding their AEW contract situation, with a recent tweet by Dax Harwood indicating that they have indeed re-signed with All Elite Wrestling.
Meanwhile, CM Punk’s AEW status remains up in the air, although he has reportedly recovered from the injury he sustained at AEW All Out.
