As reported earlier today here on eWn, Sasha Banks has been ruled out of the 2022 Royal Rumble pay-per-view with a foot injury. The injury will keep Banks out of action for 6-8 weeks.
However, despite WWE only announcing the severity of Banks’ injury on Saturday, a new report from Fightful has revealed just how long WWE creative have expected Banks to miss the Royal Rumble pay-per-view.
According to the report, the creative team in WWE were almost certain Banks wouldn’t be available from as early as January 3rd, with the injury occurring the weekend prior. As a result of this, WWE’s creative team were already working with the assumption Banks would not be available well before the announcement was made earlier today.
