Drew McIntyre Mourns The Death Of Football Legend Pelé

Three-time FIFA World Cup Champion Pelé passed away on December 29, 2022, at the age of 82, due to multiple organ failure and a complication of colon cancer.

World leaders, sporting figures, and celebrities paid tribute to the Brazilian King. Brazilian president, Jair Bolsonaro, declared a three-day period of national mourning, as Christ the Redeemer and Maracanã Stadium were lit up in honor of Pelé.

WWE Superstar Drew McIntyre took to Twitter to pay his heartfelt tribute to The King of Football. The former Universal Champion wrote:

“One of the greatest to ever play the beautiful game. RIP, Pelé”

Pelé ‘s funeral will be held at the Estádio Urbano Caldeira on the 2nd and 3rd of January 2023 following which the Black Pearl will be buried at Memorial Necrópole Ecumênica.

Regarded as one of the greatest athletes of all time and labeled “the greatest” by FIFA, Pelé is the first GOAT in the world of football (soccer) who elevated the sport to greater heights. His record of 1,279 goals in 1,363 games, which includes friendlies, is recognized as a Guinness World Record.
