Gable Steveson recently worked two WWE NXT house shows, where he emerged victorious over Dante Chen.
The Olympic Gold Medalist made his in-ring debut at the WWE NXT Great American Bash pay-per-view event which was held at the H-E-B Center in Cedar Park, Austin, Texas, where he defeated Baron Corbin.
Steveson had withdrawn from the Senior World Championships this month and was reportedly removed from the internal NXT roster. However, he was later booked for these house shows. While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that Steveson’s situation would need to be reevaluated as he was initially touted as the next Brock Lesnar, and plans were in place to fast-track him to the main roster.
As of this writing, it remains unclear when Steveson will return to television, and as of a week ago, there were no plans for him. However, his future will depend on Vince McMahon, who is currently away from WWE while recovering from spinal surgery.
